AboutBeth

Beth is an award-winning voice actor with decades of experience in audiobook narration and commercial VO. She studied improv for five years and credits being without a script for her playfulness within one. She loves narrating non-fiction (especially history, science, and sociology), mystery/thrillers, women's fiction, and romance. She is determined to narrate horror even though she is afraid of the dark.

She adores character and accent work, particularly regional US accents (and yes, she can swing the elusive Delco accent).

When she doesn’t have her nose or ears buried in a book, she lifts weights, rock climbs, and hikes. Which would shock her very unathletic teenage self.

Hicks's warm, conversational tone gives a pleasing sheen to archaic words that may be unfamiliar to modern ears. Her consistent inquisitive manner helps listeners stay focused throughout this concisely told comprehensive study.
Beth Hicks's performance is perfectly in sync with this expansive and moving history of treatment for mental suffering by the acclaimed psychotherapist and author of An Unquiet Mind.
